He had authorized the granting of Bills, My Lords Board, at the rate of 4/3 per Dollar for Sums due to Officers of Her Majesty's 35th Regiment then quitting China, to an extent not exceeding £10,000.- of these Bills a portion to the Amount of £8,459.12.10. had already been endorsed, and ordered by My Lords to be accepted. And My Lords are of Opinion that the several measures thus reported by Sir H. Pottinger were the best that could be adopted under the circumstances in which he was placed; and that he should be apprised that they have been approved of by Her Majesty's Government.
