The following singularcircumstance is recorded in the Manila Comercio of the 18th July:-This morning it was rumoured that Lieut. Pablo Var- garo, who died sozss days ago, had one to life again in the cometery chapel before the interment This is incorrect. What occurred is this: Some hour after the death, and while the body wanstili in the homes of the deceased, the Tsantly noticed that the hands and face were perspiring, and that the body had not become rigid. Undor these circumstances they solicited and obtained permission from the authorities that the body should lie far forty-sight hours in the chapal at the cemetery. The perspiration continued for game time, but at the end of the forty-sight hours decomposition had set in and the body was removed to the grave.
