As the Court of Directors do not possess any information relative to the circumstances of the case, the papers will be transmitted to the Government of Bengal, in order that the necessary inquiry may be instituted and the result communicated to this Court.
A copy of the Certificate from the Superintendent of Police has been taken by W. Melville, and the original is herewith returned, as Mr. McFee expresses a desire to recover possession of it.
