I am directed by His Excellency Sir Henry Pottinger to forward to you the accompanying documents regarding
an alleged murder committed on board the brig Harlequin when up the Coast, but which vessel has since
returned to and is now lying in this Harbour. I am further to
request that in conjunction with the Marine Magistrate, you
will investigate the case, taking the depositions of all persons
