the Colonial Office will explain to us that no such person is at present vested in the Chief Justice.

In requesting us to give the matter our earliest consideration, Mr Addington is pleased to state that, if the order in its present form does not meet Your Lordship's views, you would be obliged if we would make such alterations in it as may appear to us to be necessary so that on the receipt of our Report, the order may be in a shape to be issued as soon as Her Majesty's Pleasure could be taken upon it.

In obedience to your Lordship's commands we have taken the draft of the proposed order into Consideration, and have the honor to report that having made some slight alterations therein (in red Ink) we think that the same is correct and proper.

We have &c.

(Signed)
