The necessary instructions for carrying this matter into effect will be conveyed to the Commissioner of Audit. With respect to the Works in progress, to which the Estimates accompanying the Despatch No 68 have reference, and for the prosecution of which an Expenditure amounting AH 73,588–92, is stated in the Return with the Despatch No 68 to have been authorized, I have to state, that so far as they are explained and provided for by those Estimates, they have not appeared to the Govr to be liable to objection.
But, on adverting to the Proposed additional Expenditure, to the Amount of $ 182,200, in further prosecution of the Works to which those Estimates have reference, and to the other Works, involving an Expenditure of $ 274,000, which appear to be contemplated, I trust that the Instructions conveyed to you in my letter of 4 June last 2017, will have prevented you from authorizing the construction of any Building not urgently required for the transaction of the Public Business, or the commencement
