My Lord,

FEB.

Victoria, Houghton,

14th November, 1844:

With reference to Your Lordship's Despatch No. 17. of June 4th (in which I was required to furnish the most precise information in my power, concerning various items of Expenditure in Mr Gordon's returns, for the period previous to January 1844), I have the honor to inclose an account, in which the charges on account of the several public works and buildings are classified under the heads to which they seem most properly to pertain.

The amount of Dollars 63,040.41. was for purposes exclusively Military, being incurred in the erection of Forts, Barracks,

The Right Honorable,

Lord Stanley, M.P.
