My Ford,

The great inconvenience, arising from the want of some small coin in this Colony led me to Consult Mr Coffin as to the best mode of remedying the defect.

He has furnished me in Consequence with the Enclosed memorandum, in which the whole subject is clearly and ably discussed.

The conclusion at which I have arrived, after a careful perusal of the Commissary General's observations, is that in the first place the Experiment should be tried on a very moderate scale of circulating shillings and sixpences.
