GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

His Excellency the Governor is pleased to direct the following instruction from Her Majesty's Government to be published for the guidance of Persons holding Public Offices in the Colony.

"No Civil Officer in the Service of the Government can be permitted to engage in any Trade or other Lucrative occupation except by the express consent of the Governor, which consent will be at all times revocable. No Officer may receive any Fee or Official Emolument except his Salary."
