considering that the duties of that Office are very great and that they require constant exposure to the sun in this trying climate, I beg Your Lordship's favourable consideration to recommend to Mr Beverley's request, that he be allowed to draw half of Mr. Gordon's Salary during his absence, in addition to the £500 a year he has hitherto received as Assistant as indeed, on reference to the Colonial Regulations at Page 21, Para: 4, I find such a rule sanctioned, I propose to adopt it pending your Lordship's pleasure.
