In reply to your letter No 74 of the 19th Instant I am directed to inform You,
that in accordance with the intimation conveyed in my letter No 104 of the 8th of November last, His Excellency the Governor in Council has been pleased to instruct W. Stewart the Treasurer and Financial Secretary to commence the payment to you, of your Civil Salary on the 13th of March 1843, namely, the date on which you ceased to draw your Indian Military Pay and allowances.
