Major Caine has likewise been requested to give Captain Bruce (the Acting Superintendent of Police) such immediate subsidiary instructions as to the employment, lodging of the Policemen and their families &c, &c, as may be required, and to submit to Government any further suggestions that his local experience may enable him to do for giving the fullest effect to arrangements that have been decided on.
Copies of this letter and of those from you to which it is a reply will be forwarded by the first opportunity to Her Majesty's Government.
