I have the honor to report for the

information of His Excellency Sir Henry Pottinger, that the Major General has this day passed sixty-two

men of the st Regiment for the Service of the police, with concurrence of the Superintendant,

and the full concurrence of Captain Bruce, who was present at their examination.

These men will be transferred to the 55th Regiment is not correct, it should be another regiment, possibly 98th is not there, a likely candidate is the 95th Regiment for the 1st Battalion and will be handed over to Captain Price as soon as their Regimental accounts are duly settled.

The number of men already in the police is twenty-eight, so that the R. Wooman Esqr
