this locality within the reach of Government Authority, I possess no warrant to question. I have instructions that would prevent my entering upon that subject, much regret it is not in my power to reply to the communication with which you have honored me - but you may rest assured, that so soon as I may be armed with adequate Authority, I shall most readily unite with you in every practicable measure for the promotion of the various objects you have in view for the benefit of the Colony - as well as any subject you may suggest for the promotion of the Queen's Service.

In perusing the documents with which you favored me, I observe at the conclusion of a letter from His Excellency the Governor to my Lord Stanley the following paragraph:
