In reply to your letter Nr. 694 of the 15th Instant I have the honor to report for the information of His Excellency the Governor in Council that I can procure the services of five European overseers to be placed on the Establishment of the intended Superintendent of Police, at a monthly salary of $20 each. “The twelve Chinese levengers proposed by His Excellency to be placed under the overseers will be procurable after the Chinese New year at $6 per month each – A house has been offered to me at a monthly rent of $30.
