No. 6.

Bury Lancashire 7th February 1842.

I have great pleasure in certifying that during the time I have known Serjeant Aistero Hectoriěck formerly Order Serjeant 23d Regiment, and now serving as a Serjeant in the Lancashire Constabulary force, he has borne the highest character as a Soldier, and has Conducted himself as an intelligent, and Zealous Non-Commissioned Officer. From the beginning of 1826 to the end of 1837, I remember him in the 23d Regiment, and having been myself Regimental Adjutant upwards of 1½ Years, I had every Opportunity of forming an Opinion of his Character. During the last year he has served under my immediate command in this force, and I can safely say that his conduct has been marked by every quality requisite in a Non-Commissioned Officer. I sincerely hope he may be successful in his present application.
