With reference to your
Letter of the 14th instant inquiring
if Mr Waldron, who has been appointed United States Consul at
Hong Kong, is or is not resident at that place, I am directed by the Earl of Aberdeen to transmit to you herewith, for Lord Stanley's information a Copy of a Letter from Mr. Everett in reply to the reference which was made to him on the subject.
