But H. his. Plenipotentiary after an interval of upwards of a month after this Excellency's arrival from the north, during which time I have expended on the ground an additional sum of upwards of seven thousand dollars, has by repudiating the acts of Capt. R. Johnston Eagle, in charge of the fort, and of the land officer authorized to transfer lands, again opened up the question which had been determined by these officers, as to Capt. Meck having implemented the terms of his grant; and in consequence of being of a different opinion upon this point, stopped my buildings when more than half completed, and referred the case to the decision of this indemnity, leaving me without any indemnity for the considerable pecuniary loss I have sustained in consequence of the ground having been formally transferred to me by the Constituted Authorities against whom (myself) no ground of complaint is alleged.
