I am directed by the Earl of Aberdeen to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 8thof this month, and I am to thank you for your obliging offer to furnish the Law Officers of the Crown with any information which they may desire, in order to enable them to frame an Act for the establishment of Courts of Justice at Hongkong.

Lord Aberdeen will communicate a copy of your Letter to Lord Stanley. I am to state to you however, that there is no present intention of introducing Bill into Parliament for the regulation of legal proceedings in China
