Since the enclosed letter was received, I have ascertained from the Principal of the School, whose Report has been concurred in by Mr. Modhurst, that there are four boys well advanced, and that two of them may now proceed with me to Shanghai. The other two continuing to pursue their Studies at school, to relieve in a few month's time the two who accompany me to the North, a plan which appears to me likely to prove of great benefit eventually to the Public Service, and involving trifling additional expense.
