A communication from Law, Chief Magistrate of the District of Xiangshan, to Major E. J. Maine, Chief Magistrate of Hong Kong, and its Dependencies.

On the 22nd of August I received,

a communication stating, that the men

a warrant, directing them to

apprehend certain criminals at Thai- a place within the jurisdiction of Hong Kong,

contrary to the terms of the

arrangements made between the two countries,

that your Police runners

having accompanied
