your wish heller, Four xilskip

best me to be pleased to recollect that after the ground for the barrack had been selected as the firm embraced the purchase of "Curtain Front Houses," I had, as M. Schuston's part, refused the outlay and that therefore nothing was of course done.

I have shown that not only did I refuse the railway but that I was prepared to put no limitation to it, though I would not assent to the Owners of Kenese House being turned out of them by force, or against their Wills, and I have also shown, that the Cantonment, including a site for the 18 tracks was subsequently laid out by the Assistant Quarter Master General without the necessity for including a single House, in it, so long as the 18th of March.

With regard to the Barracks at

Your Lordship stated, that I was authorized to order the Barrack under the Condition that it was to be attached to a Battery - I have shown, that the word Battery did not occur in the correspondence till long after the Barrack was ordered, and that when I did allude to it, in consequence of Orders intermediately received from England - I spoke of it as a suggestion (for Your Lordship's consideration) and in no shape stipulation on which the building of the Barrack was to depend.

I can only conclude from Your Lordship having avoided in your last letter any explanation of the above points, as well as the matter of the sport and confidential Reports which will enable the Board of Ordnance to undeceive Her Majesty's Government.
