Bisset & Co., in their Share Report for the week ending 29th July, state-Owing to the hot weather and the absence of many of the brokers from Shanghai, the market all round has been very quiet, the bulk of business done being very small. The T.T. rate on London yesterday was 2/31. Banks.-Hongkong & Shang- hai Banks. Shares have been in strong demand all the week with buy-rs at $1,025, and no sellers at this figure. No business was reported. Shipping. Business has been done at Tlă.

Dividends have been declared for the half-year ending June 30, of 34 per cent on the Preference and 2 per cent on the Docks and Wharves.-Shang- Ordinary shares. hai Dock and Engineering Co., Ltd. On the 23rd sales were effected at Tls. 88 for Sept. The market closed easier with sales for September at Tls. 82. Shanghai & Hongkow Wharves. A fair amount of business has been done in this stock, sales taking place for September at Tls. 150, Tls. 152), Tls, 149, Tis. 152, Tls. 151, and Tls. 150, closing with sellers for Sept. at Tl, 150). The only cash transaction was on the 24th at Tls. 150. Sugars and Mining.-No business has been re- ported under these heading. Lands. Very few transactions.
