Messrs J. P. Bisset & Co. in their Share Report for the week ending March 17th, state:- There has been a fair general business put through since our 1 at issue. he feature of the week has been the advance in the price of Hongkong and Shanghai Bank hes which this time last week were at $930, and close strong at $960. There is not much change in the prices of other stocks to report. The T. T on London to-day is 2/34. Banks.-Hongkong and Shanghai Banks. A very strong demand has prevailed all the week and a considerable number of shares have changed hands. The mar- ket at the close was strong and shares were in demand at 3960. Insurance.-Yangtze Insur- anco Co. have declared a dividend of $15 per share and are in strong demand with buyers at $215. Shipping. Shanghai Tugs Ordinary shares im- proved to Tls, 48. Rreference have buyers at Tls. 52).
Kochien Tugs. There are sellers at Tls. 421. Docks and Wharves.-There is no business reported this week, Rates remain at Tls. 88 March and Tls. 91 and 92 for June. Shanghai and Hongkow Wharves, As usual a fair business has been done in this stock both for March and June delivery. Rites have not varied to any extent and close at Tls. 175 for March and I'ls. 181 to Tls, 181 for June. Sugars.-Perak Sugar reached the figure of Tls. 125. There are a few shares obtainable at this price. Land Shanghai Land Investment Co. A fair quantity of shares were on the market at Tls. 115 in the early part of the week, but these were gradually absorbed and there are now buyers .t this price. Anglo-French Lands. The quotation remains at Tls. 102. Industrial.- Considerable business has been done in all Cotton shares. Ewo Cottons which opened at Tis. 116 for March an T. 119 for June have gradu y advanced to Tls. 120 for March and Tls. 124 for June, closing firm. Internationals
have hard'y v«ried and business was done yesterday at Tls. 91 for March add Tls. 94 for June. Laou Kung Mow Shares have been steady all the week. Transactions are reported at Tls, 105 for March and Tls. 108) to 109 for June. Shanghai Gas share are wanted at Ts. 115. aatschappij &c. in Langkats shares. Very little has been done this week, The dividend of Tls. 124 wat paid on the 15th and shares are now quoted ex. div. at Tla. 805 for ca-h, s. 810 for March, and Tls. 825 for June. Shanghai Sumatras in the early part of the week were somewhat depressed. but strong, buying has taken place since and at the close a transaction is reported at Ts, 120 for M«rch.
