COTTON MILLA.-Ewos has been sold locally at 78 cum dividend of Tls. 5 paid on the 16th inst., and have since improved in the north to 75 ex dividend, the riss being attributed by our private advices, to a speculative demand. Laon Ku g Mows have receded to 66 and Boy Chees have improved to 270. Hongkongs Cottons continue with s llers at 10.
MISCELLANEOUS, Campbell Moores are enquired for at 9, China Providents at 91. Electrics at 181, the last after sls at that rate. Union Water Boats at 10, and Watkins ́st 2, Watsons have improved to 94 after sales at 91. Ices are easier with sellers at 225. Chinese Engineerings have improved to 17) with buyers and no shares obtainable,

Messrs. J. P. Bisset & Co. of Shanghai in their Share Report for the week ending December 10th, 1908, state:-There has been a fair amount of business put through during the week. Atten- tion has mostly been directed to Maatschappiji ko. in Langkat shares and Shanghai and Hongkew Wharves, with a large Settlement for December in both stocks fast approaching. Cotton shares have also been well in demand at gradually improving ratos. Banks.-Hongkong and Shanghai Banks, Banks have maintained the position roached last week of 2885 with Exchange 73. The T. T. rate on London to-day is 2/24. Insurance.-North China Insurance. Considerable business has been done. A good number of shares were bought at Tls. 97. and the demand still continuing the rate improved to Tls. 100. There were buyers at this figure. Yangtsze Insurance. Some shares were on offer in the early part of the week at $165, hut a better rate is obtainable at present. Shipping-There is no business under this heading, Sugars.-Sales of Perak Sugars have been made at Tls. 90 and Tls, S. Mining.-No business. Lands.-Shang- hai Land Investment Co. Ltd. Shares have improved to Tls. 117, and are wanted. Anglo- French Land. There has been an enquiry for these at Tis. 100. Docks and Wharves.-Shanghai Dck and Engineering Co. Ltd. These shares reached Tls. 80 for cash and Decomber. This appears to be the top for the present, as the rate is not now obtainable. Shanghai and Hongkew Wharves. A large business has take place and the price had weakened somewhat The market opened on the 3rd with males at Tls. 142! f... Dec. and on the 4th transactions are repo›ted at Tls 143, Tls. 143) and Tis. 144, and for March delivery at Tis. 147 and 1471. These rates may be said to have prevailed until yesterday, when share came in for sale from all directions. The market closed with a weak tendency at Tis. 13 for December and Tls. 143 for March. Industrial-Ewo Cottons. Considerable busi esa hrs taken place this week. The cash and/or December rate has advanced to Tis. 714 and transaction are recorded for March at Tis 731, and Tls 74, Tls. 74, and Tls. 75, at which latter rate shares are obtainable. International Cottons have advanced to Tls. 60. Sug Chees. Shares are in demand at Tls. 205. Laou Kung Mows, Shares have declined and a sule was made at Tls. 65. Maatschappij &c. in Langkats. We have to report a decline of 1 s. 15 for December delivery, since our last, bringing the rate to Tls. 885. For March delivery the market has been on the whole very steady, and we would brig fly quote the rate at closing as Tls. 930 for March. Shanghai Smuatras have hafl, a considerable improvement to Tls. 125 for December and Tls. 130 for March, The demand has been Shanghai Waterworks. maintained and share have changed bands at Tls. 435, and at this rate there are further buyers.
