A QUESTION OF JURISDICTION. Action was brought by Cheung Sek-chan to recover from Tam Fung fai the sum of $633.35 being the equivalent of Taels 464-2-4-2 monies paid on February 12th by the plaintiff to the Kia Hing firm of Amoy for and at the request of the defendant. The plaintiff also claimed interest at the rate of Taels 12 per 1000 per six months from the date when the payment was made by him on behalf of the defendant autil date of repayment.
Hon. Mr. H, E. Pollook, K.C., instructed by Mr. Daniel (of Messrs. Johnson, Stokes and Master) appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr. M. W. Slade, instructed by Mr. G. K, Hall Brutton (of Messrs. Brutton and Hett) for the defendant.
