SHARE REPORTS.
HONGKONG, 7th June, 1907.- We have on improvement to report in the market; business continues very restricted, and rates show no signs of improvement, in fact in almost every stock we have to record lower rates. Exchange, on London T.T. 2/24, on Shanghai 734.
BANKS. Following the fall on the London market rates have declined, and the market has ruled weak. Small sales have been effected at $885 and $880, closing with sellers at the latter rate. London quotes £98. Nationals remain unchanged and without business.
MARINE INSURANCES.-Unions, after small sales at 765 and 760, have declined to 755, with a small sale at the last named rate; buyers at 750 however fail to be satisfied, and the market closes steady, to strong at 755, North Chinas have declined to 75, and Yangtazes improved to 170, the latter closing with buyers. Cantons continue neglected and without business at 280. We quote China Traders at $91 there being no buyers above that rate.
FIRE INSURANCES.-Hongkongs remain at 325 sellers, without any sales to report, Chinas have further improved to 84 with sales and probable further buyers.
SHIPPING.-Hongkong, Canton and Macso8, after a period of inaction, have again been in demand, and after small sales during the week at 291 are wanted at that, and in all probability a little higher rate would be paid. Shells have receded to 448., London quoting 44/9 sellers. We have nothing else to report under this heading. REFINERIES, China Sugars have been placed in small lots at 115, but at the time of closing shares are obtainable at 112, and pro bably a lower rate would be socepted. Luzons call for no remarks.
MINING. Raubs have been in some demand st 61, and sales have been effected at that rate. Charbonnages are now enquired for at the improved rate of 475, but no shares seem to be procurable.
