MARINE INSURANCES.-The demand for Unious still continues, and in the absence of sel-ers ti e rate has farther advanced to $834. With the exception of a small sale of North Chinas at Tls. 81 we have nothing further to report under this heading.
FIRE
$25 INSURANCES Hongkongs hate again changed hands at $385, but the market closes rather weaker, with sellers at that rate. Chinas have been quoted uring the week at $99 sellers, and later a sale at $98 has been effected.
SHIPPING-Hongkong, Canton and Macaos have found buyers at 330 in fair lots, the mar- ket closing fairly steady but with a few small lots on offer. Indos have been done at 886. the market closing at $6, nominal. China and Manilas have further declined to $ 0 with- out bu-ine-s. Shells are et quired for in a small way at 38s., but we have heard of no sales, shares being very scarce, and the few holders waiting for expected higher rates.
REFINERIEx-Sales of China Savars are reported at $15. the mark-t closing with sellers at $127, and no bayrs · ver $125, Luzons un. changed and without businees.

DOCKS, WHARVES AND G DOWNS.-Hong. kong and Whampoa Docks continue quiet, and offers to sell at $134 ex dividend of $t paid on the 26th ult., met with no response, and the market closes with sellers. Kowloon Wharves have been placed in small lots at $94! closing with sellers. Shanghai Docks hare ruled neg. lected at $108 nominal. Shanghai and Hong. kew Wharves have been placed at Tls. 232 for cash, and at Tls. 244 Mareb, locally, closing rather firmer at Tls. : 35 casb.
LANDS, HOTELS AND BUILDINGS. --Hong. kong Lands bare changed hands at $107, and later at $107, the market closing firm at the latter rate. West Points have declined to $54 without sales and close with sellers. Hotels were placed in the early part of the week at $123. The Company has issued a report to the 30th Dec. The Directors recommend a dir, of 85 per share, transf ring to repsis and re- newals account $7,000, and carrying forward $371.53. Humphreys have found further buyers at $114.
