At the foot of the hill, Pat replaced Prairie King, For- ward still retaining the third position. Black Monday: increased his distance from Pat, by half a length, when passing the village, and as the field cantered past the Judges' box | the first time the order was Black Monday, 1, Sport Royal, 2, Pat, 3. Passing the football ( stand Black Monday was still in the lead with

Sport Royal close behind and Forward replac 0ing Pat in the third position. Going up the hill for the second time Sport Royal led, Jungle King taking the second place and Back Monday falling in third. Prairie King now shot ahead and as the field passed the village, took the first place, and made good his lead as he entered the straight. Ten ponies got well away, and as they came out of the football field Desert King was in the van, with Grafton a good second and the field well up. As the ponies | weut down the incline Grafton forged forward. Desert King following bard in his tracks and Royal taking up the third position, and later, replacing Desert King. This was the order until near home when Graftou increased his dis'ance in the lead, winning by some four lengths on Royal, who passed the post about three lengths ahead of the Spirtle. The last race of the day brought forth twelve starters. They got away well, Black Monday taking the lead, with Sport Royal and Ching following hard behind. Oa rounding the band the ponies running second pulled up on the first, and the field closed up. Whips were plied heavily coming up the straight, and the gallop home was a fast one. Black Monday passed the winning post head and shoulders ahead of Sport Royal, while Ching followed a good third. Time: 1.20.

The Pari Mutuel paid: Black Monday, $50; Sport Royal, $28.70; Ching, $25.30; dividend, 8391 50.
