SHARE REPORTS.

HONGKONG, 4th November, 1904.-Business generally has fallen off considerably during the past week, the position as regards. Indo- Chinas being affected largely by the intervening Shanghai Races which have practically stopped business in this stock with the Northern port.

BANKS. - Hongkong and Shanghais are somewhat easier with small sales and further sellers at $695. London quotes £69. Nationals are without change at $39.

MARINE INSURANCES.-Unions are firmer again with buyers at $635. China Traders can be placed to a small extant at $61. North Chines are in request at Tls. 80 ex the final dividend of 10 per share for 1903 paid on the 26th October. Cautons are easier with sales and a few shares obtainable at $252.

FIRE INSURANCES.-Hongkongs continue in request at $335. Chinas bare sold, and are in further demand at $90,

SHIPPING. Hongkong, Canton and Macaos have ruled steady with sales at $30, and pro- bable further buyers at the rate. Indo-Chinas have been neglected throughout the interval, owing largely to the influence of the Shanghai Race Meeting, and closing quotation of $130 sellers shows a slight falling off as compared with last week's rate. China and Manilas have. fallen to $23 sellers, and Douglases to $35 sellers the latter after sales at $36 and $35.

DOCKS, WHARVES, AND GODOWNS.-Hong kong and Whampoa Docks have again declined, and a few shares are now procurable at $220. | United Asbestos Hongkong and Kowloon Wharvės have sold, and have further sellers at $115. New Amoy Docks are still quoted at $271⁄2 sellers. Farnham, Boyds after reported sales at Tls. 177 have eased off again to Tls. 176 with pr bable sellers. Marine and Fire Insurance.-North-Chinas have experienced a good rise and shares have been placed at Tls. 821 and 85. Yangtzes are in de- mand at $146. Shipping. Indo-Chinas have fallen in price during the week on large sales of shares from Hongkong, but at the close are firm with buyers at quotations Tls. 94 for October in the early part of the week was followed by sales at Tls. 931, 93, 92 and 91, to rise again yesterday to 92 cash. For December 95), 95, 94 and 98 were done, but shares are now in deniand at Tls. 94. The market closes strong and the Hongkong quotation is $127 buyers. Shanghai Tug and Lighter Co. Ordinary shares are wanted at Tls. 49. Docks and Wharves.-S. C. Farnham, Boyd & Co. Quotations during the week have resulted in very few changes. Business has been done at Tls. 175 October, 174, and a demand for October setting in carried the rate to 178, at which shares are obtainable. For December Tls. 179 and 180 are reported. For January 182, for February 184 and for March 186. The market closes easy. Shanghai and Hongkew Wharves. Shares have been in strong demand, and the rate his improved to 1371 old shares and 135 new. Both cash and time shares are enquired for. Sugars.China Sugars have fallen in Hongkong to $2407 at which rate there are buyers. Mining.-Weihaiwei Golds. A few transactions are reported at 8221 for cash with buyers for December at $23. Lands. Shanghai Lands have been done at Tls. 113, closing with buyers at Tls. 114. No business in other stocks under this heading. Industrial.— A transaction in International Cottons is reported at Tls. 20. Shanghai Gas shares have been placed at Tls. 105 with sales at, the close. Shanghai Ice. | There are sellers at Tls. 23 China Flours are in demand and Tls. 70 might be got for shares. Shanghai Pulps have been again placed this week at Tls. 157 cash and 165 December. Langkats. A good deal of business has been done at Tls. 306) and 307 for Qctoher with a few transactions at Tls. 317 December. This stock is and has been for some months exceedingly quiet. Shanghai- Sumatras. Business is recorded during the week at Tls. 66 for cash and October delivery. Stores and Hotels.-Hall and Holtz, there are a few shares in the barkot at $31, Central Stores.. There are sellers of this stock, but no offers forth- coming. Weeks und Co. are recorded at $20. Hotel des Colonies have been placed at Tls. 21, and shares can be obtained at this price.
