HONGKONG, 28th October. 1904. During the past week there bas been but little change in the general condition of our market which closes again with a fair enquiry for most invest- ment stocks, and a moderate demad for Indo- Chinas at quotations. Chin Sugars bave barely maintained there position, but close with cish buyers at rather better than the quoted rafe, and equivalent rates on time.
BANKS, Hongkong and Shaogha's remain steady at $700 with sales and further small sellers at the rate. London has again advanced, and now quotes £89. 108. Od. Nationals are unsteady at 839, with both buyers and sellers of small quantities at the ratesellers predominating. MAKINE INSURANCES. -Unions have im. proved further, and
can HOW be placed at $630. China Traders ar also in some demand at 861, a slight advance on last quotation. North Chinas and Yang(szes con tinue in request. the former at the improved rate of Tls. 80, and the latter at $145. Cantons bare slightly eased off and are now quoted at 82:5 with sales and further small sellers at the quotation
FIRE INSURANCES.-Hourkongs are firmer wih buyers at $335. aud Chines are also in demand at the improved rate of $90.
SHIPPING.-Hongkong, Canton and Ma aos bave again heen booked at $294 and $30, and close with further buyers at the former rave. Indo-Chinas coming again into demand bare steadily advanced from $128 to $131 with sales at intermediate rates, closing with buyers at $1305 China and Mauilas have declined to $25 sellers. REFINERIES-China Sugars have ruled very erratic, but at the close a buying quotation at $235 has been fixed and at this or perhaps a little betteraud fair demand exists. On time sales have been effected at $238 November, $239 and 3240 December, and $245 March. Luzons are still btainable at $6.
MINING. Raubs have improved to $64 with sales.
DOCKS, WHARVES, AND GODOWNS.-Hong kong and Whampo Docks after declining to $221 cash bave improved to $222 buyers. Hongkong and Kowloon Wharves have sold and are still in request at $115. Farobams are in some local demand at Tis. 176. New Amoy Dorks continue neglected at $274 sellers. LANDS, HOTELS, AND BUILDINGS.-Hong- kong Lands have declined to $148 sellers. Kowloon Lands and 'Wes Points are procur- able at last quotations. Hongkong Hotels are steady at $137 with sales and probable buyers at the rate. Humphreys Estates are firm at $12 and $5 for the old and new issues respec- tively. Shanghai Lands bave advanced to Tls. 115 buyers.
COTTON MILLS.Hongkongs have improved to $10 buyers. Northern stooks continue without change,
MISCELLANEOUS.-China Borneos are firmer with buyers at $12. China Providents have again been fixed at $91. Dairy Farms are wanted at $24, and Steam Waterboats at $214. loss can be placed at $250, and Ropes at $140, Green Island Cements after sales at $34 and $334 are now on offer at $334.
