SHARE REPORTS. HONGKONG, 12th August, 1904.-A good general business has been transacted during the past week, and rates in most cases again show an improvement. The sensation of period under review has been the rapid advance in the north of Farnham, Bayds which show au appreciation of nearly Tls. 40 per share.
BANKS.-Hongkong and Shanghais have Insurance continued in request, and sales at $6624 and $665 have been booked, market closing with buyers at 3665, London continues to quote £68. lfs. Od. Nationals are without change at 338 buyers.
MARINE INSURANCES.-Unions have been disposed of at $545 and $540. China Tradera are firmer with probable buyers at $63 North Chinas, Yangtszes, and Cantons are unchanged.
FIRE INSURANCES. -Hongkongs have sold and are still in request at $310. Chinas bave been booked and are in further demand at $88.
SHIPPING. Hongkong, Canton and Macaos have sold at $304 and $304 and more shares are procurable at the latter figure. Indo-Chinas have ruled fairly steady; sales at $112 cash and for the settlement have been effected, and at rather less than equivalent rates for December delivery, market closing with a few cash sellers at $112. China and Maniles have been booked
at 826 and 8261, and more shares are wanted an the former rate. Donglases are quiet at $35. Star Ferries have again advanced and shares can now be placed at $38 and $28 for the old and new issues respectively. Shell Transports have sold and are procurable at 23.3.
REFINERIES-China Sugars after sales at $188. $189 and $190 cash and for the settle- ment, have receded to $183 sellers. An interim dividend of $5 per share payable on and after the 29th instant for the Lalf-year ending 30th June, 1904, has been declared. "Luzons continue neglected at $9 sellers.

For Hamburg--318 packages tea, 140 rolls matting. 75 cases essential oil, 52 cases ginger, 19 cases feathers, 15 cases human hair, 15 cases bristles, 1 case silk, For London:-183 rolls uatting, 8 boxes horn tips, 3 cases curios.
