NEWCHANG TRADE.

Messrs. Bandinel & Co's.,Market Report dated 2nd July, states:-Our last report was dated 25th May, since which time the supply of tonnage has increased, though still far behind 1903, viz., 109 steamers against 343. Freights have greatly de- clined and outsiders are accepting 18 cents to Shanghai. Mines. On 30th June & Shanghai junk, southward bound with cargo, while poling through shallow water, a third of a mile off the point of the island of Changshingtao, south of Fuchow, was....blown up. The survivors were picked up by another junk and brought in yester- day. Vessels in Port are Tungshing, Kwangsi, Heiping, Kungping, Chingping. Victoria, Daphne, sad Kamor. Produce remains dear—prices per haps enhanced by a Russian Proclamation posted in Moukden and other Bean depôts forbidding or rather dissuading Chinese from sending Beans and Grain to this port. It was prematurely issued and is, so far, "disregarded with impunity. Quotations are:-Bean Oil per picul Tls. 10.70. Beancakes per 10 pieces Tls. 0.80, Beans per 3 piculs Tls. 8.70. Stocks are 280,000 pieces Beancakes, 180,000 piculs Beans. Exchange 1,000 Newchang Transfer Taels-835 Shanghai Taels Premium on Sycee.-Tl. 17 per shoe.

DOCKS, WHARVES, AND GODOWNS.-Hong- kong and Whampos Docks eased off a little during the early part of the week and sales at $217 were ffected; at the close, however, a firmer feeling has set in, and shares are in request at $217. Hongkong and Kowloon Wharves have sold and more shares are in the market at $113. New Amoy Dock continue on offer at $30. Farnhams have been p'ared both locally and in the North at the reduced rate of Tls. 15'.

LANDS, HOTELs, and RuildINGS.-Hong- kong Lands contiune on offer a $158. Kow- loo" Tands are s'eady "t $38, and West Points at $60. $134 with sales, but closing i request at the Hongkong Hotels have declined to
