SHARE REPORTS.

HONGKONG, 17th June, 1904.-Tho genera tone of our market continues dull and inactive. with but little alteration in current market values. Indo-Chinas and China Sugars have again absorbed the chief attention of operators, but rates close in both instances without any material change as compared with last week's quotations.

BANKS.-Hongkong and Shanghais have eased off, and a few shares are obtainable locally at $660. The London quotation remains at £66. 10s. Od. Nationals are still enquired for at $38.

North

MARINE INSURANCES.-Unions have sold and continue in request at $5 10. China Traders after sales at $61 are asked for at $62. Chinas are steady with probable buyers at Tls. 621.

Yangtszes and Cantons are unchanged and without business.

FIRE INSURANCES.-China; have sold at $861 and continue in request. Hongkongs ars obtainable to a small extent at $310.

SRIPPING.-Hongkong, Canton, and Macaos have sold at $30 but close weaker with sellers at 8294. Indo-Chinas have ruled very erratio with sal s ranging between $112 and $117 for cash and July delivery. $115 to 8118 September. $119 October, and § 20 to 8121 December. At the close the market is steady with cash buyers at $116. China and Manilas are neglected at $26, at which there are sellers. Douglases are unchanged with sellers at $36. Star Ferries (old) are enquired for at the improved rate of $32; the new issue is also firmer, and shares could probably be placed at $24. Shell Traus- ports have declined to 22/6 sellers.

REFINERIES. —— China Sugara hare beau sold at varying rates between $165 and $170 cash, closing steadier with probable buyers at $168. Forward rates however are not so firm, due apparently to the desire of holders of cheaper purchases to realise profits, and for distant dates to the end of the year shares are obtainable at rather less than the usual equiva. lent rates. Luzons are quite out of favour at $9 sellers.

MINING. No change in quotations or bus iness to report.

DOCKS, WHARVes, and GodowNS.-Hong kong and Whampoa Docks have sold at $213 cash and for the settlement delivery, and close with further sellers at the rate.
