TONNAGE. HONGKONG, 20th May.-There has been very little demand for tonnage during the past fort night, an freights coastwise have declined. From Saigon to this, 20 cents last, and no further inquiry for prompt shipment. The recent typhoon at Saigon caused considerable damage to mills and lighters To Philippines, oue settlement at 38 cents. To Japan. 40 cents has been paid for Juns hipment. Bangkok to Hongking, on prompt steamers wanted. Newchwang to Canton, after fixtures at 75 cents and 60 cents, the rates dropped to 45 cents; to Amoy, 70 cents last; 'to Swatow, 50 cents. According to latest 1eports the Russians still occupy Newchwang. Coal freigh's are weak. From Japan to this, $1 49.to $1. 0; to Hongay, $2.50; to Singa ore, $2.00. Hongay to this, $1.75.
