TONNAGE.

HONGKONG, 8th May.--During the period under review, freights have further declined. From Saigon to this, 19 cents was paid for a ready medium sized carrier, but only 17 cents per picul is now obtainable, cargo consisting principally of rice flour; to one port Philippines, 30 cents per picul last; to Java and Japan, no enquiry. Wuhu to Canton, 24 cardareens per picul offeri g. New- chwang to Canton, 25 cents per picul; to Amoy, 29 cents per picul last. Coal freights are weak. From Moji to Hongkong, $1 95 last and tonnage now freely offering at $1.85; to Singapore, $2,25 per ton.

Sailing vessels.-The Swedish barque Dhawar has been chartered to load here for New York at £1,850 aud the British barque Forthbank for Callao at £2,000 in full. Six sailing vessels disengaged in port registering 9,312 tons. The following are the charters :——
