Mr. J. M. Henderson, foreman boilermaker at the Kowloon Docks, who is going home on leave on Wednesday by the German mail steamer, was entertained to dinner in the Kowloon Hotel on the 25th ult. night by several members of the European staff of the Dock.
The heating of the charge against the Chinaman who is accused of complicity in the murder of Young Ku Wan, the Reformer, in his house at Gage Street two years ago, was resumed before Mr. F. A. Hazeland. Police Magistrate, is taking place within closed doors.
The death is announced at Colombo of Mr. Hercules J. Scott, of the firm of Messrs. Bosanquet & Co. Mr. Scott went to Colombo from Hongkong nearly ten years go na Accountant of the Hongkong and Sharghai where, for a Tortion of the time he was in Bank. He had been some years in Hongkong business as a stockbroker, but had re-joined the Bank staff shortly before going to Ceylon.

On the 25tli ult, night Mr. W.. Ramsay, superintendent engineer with Messrs Batter field & Swire, was entertained to dinner in the Hongkong Hotel. A large party assembled, and a very pleasant evening was spent - Mr. Ramsay leaves on holiday by the next German mail.
A varie y concert was given in the ball of the Catholic Union on the 25th ult evening.
