Mr. P. Eduljee says in his Report, dated Hong- kong, 12th February: --Business has been only partially resumed, as most of country buyers have not returned from the interior, and the bulk of the limited settlements noted below may be considered as the usual New Year 'congratulatory" purchases by our local' dealer. Prices show little or change and contrary to expectations the feeling amongst buyers is not strong. Importers do not appear anxious sellers, and having in view the excited state of the Bombay market, con-ider the position fairly strong, and await developments. leports from the country are satisfactory; the yearly settlement of accounts having passed off without difficulty, and proportionate confidence is apparent. We close quiet but stendr.

Local:- Quotations are maintained, but no business has Leen reported.

Japanese Yarn: The only business of the interval has been the sale of 100 bales Sett u No. 20s, at $19.

Raw Cotton:-Nothing doing either in Indian er thina descriptions; quotations are barely maintained, and much easier feeling is noti·eable among holders, and at the o ose a forced sale of 50 bales Superfine Bengal at $14 under market values Stocks: Indian 2,400 and has been reported. (hina 500 bales.

Exchange on India closes weak to-day at Rs. 1161 for T/T and Rs. 1161 for Post On Shanghai 721 and on Yokohama 783.
