SHARE REPORT. HONGKONG. 7th November.-Business has been quieter during the week under review, but market values contique to be generally well maintained.

BANKS. Hongkong and Shanghais have been booked at $6274 and 5630, ant close firm. London has advanced to £64. 10s. Nationals continue on offer at $27.

MARINE INSURANCES. - Unions have sold and are in further request at 8460. China Tra- ders can be placed at the improved rat of $62. Yangtszes are quiet at $131. Cantons can be procured at $1671.

FIRE INSURANCE3 Hongkongs are ou offer at $350. Chinas have been di-posed of at $851 and $86 and close with sellers at the higher rate. SHIPPING.-Hongkong. Canton and Macaos have been booked at $37, 8374 and 8374, closing with some sellers at the latter rate. Indo-Chinas, after sales at $96 and $ 61, are firmer in sym- pathy with an improvement in the north, and are now quoted at $98. China Manilas can be placed at $26. Douglases are enquired for at $41 after sales at 840 and $404. Star Ferries (old) have been booked at $23: the new issue is steady at 813. Shell Transports are procurable at £l. 178. 6d.

Refineries.--China Sugurs have continued in fair request, and sales at $100, $101, and $102 have been effec-ed, the market closing with sellers at $103. Luzons are still enquired for at $15.

TONNAGE. HONGKONG, 7th November.-Since last report, freights have declined. From Saigon to Hong- kong. 15 cents last and 16 cents per picul offering for medium sized carriers to Philippines, 32 cents last, but no further demand at the moment; to one port north coast Java, 25 cents per picul. From Bangkok to Hongkong, 30 and 25 cents per picul. From north coast Java to Hongkong, 25 cents per picul for wet and 20 cents per picul for dry sugar. From oilo to Japan, 31 cents per picul last.

From Newchwang to Canton, several steamers have been fixed at 39 and 40 cents per picul and one without 'tween decks, at 35 cents, and more tonnage might be placed at 37 and 38 cents according to size. Coal freights are firm. From Moji to Hongkong, $2.70 per ton; to Singa- pore, $200; to Manila, $3.50. Hongay to Hong- kong, $1.80 last. Time charters. The Norwegian s.s. Skramstad has been chartered for Shanghai account (coal trade), the Hansa for Japan, the | Gara for Singapore, the Saga presunbly for Sin- i gapore and the Heim for Hongkong. The follow-
