HONGKONG, 23rd May-In consequence of the general cessation of business to-morrow in commemoration of the anniversary of the birth. day of our late Queen Victoria, our share report is issued a day earlier than customary. During the six days which have intervened since our last report, business has been con- ducted on a very restricted scale, but rates generally have been well maintained and closo steady.
BANKS.--Hong-ong and Shanghais have been sold in small lots at 380 per cent. prem., and 377 per cent. prem., and close quiet at the former rate. The London rate is £81. 108. Od. Nationals are unchanged.
MARINE INSURANCES.—Unions are wanted at $340, China Traders at $58, North Chinas at Tls. 180, and Yangtazes at $125. Cantons are on offer at $180.
FIRE INSURANCES.-Hongkong Fires are to be had at $360, and China Fires at $871.
SHIPPING.-Hongkong, Canton and Macaos have been sold at $35, 8344 and $341, and a few Indo. shares may be had at the latter rate. Chinas have recovered their position, and after sales at $135, $136 and $137 cash, are on offer at the latter rate. China Manilas are to be had at $63 and $53 for the old and new shares respec- tively. Douglases are obtainable at $53. Star Ferry's are on offer at $24 for the old shares, and $9 for the new. Shells and China Mutuals are unchanged.
REFINERIES.-Chin 1 Sugars have been placed and are wanted at $134. Luzons have sellers at $32.
MINING.-Punjoms have sold at 87.30 to $7.50, and are obtainable at the latter quotation. Charbonnages are wanted at $335. Râubs have recovered as little and are in demand at $21. Olivers have sellers at $14 and $1 for the "A" and "B" shares respectively.
DOCKS, WHARves and GodDOWNS.-Hong. kong and Whampoa Docks have remained steady during the period under review, and close at $3174 with a few sellers at the rate. Hongkong and Kowloon Wharfs have sold at $104 and $105, and close with sellers at the latter rate. Wanchais are wanted at $64, and New Amoy Docks at $22§.
LANDS, HOTELS AND BUILDINGS.-Hong- kong Lands have sold at $196 and $197 cash and are in further demand at the latter rate. West Points are wanted at $56. Humphreys Estates are in the market at $14. Oriente Hotels are obtainable at 880. Hongkong Hotels after sales at $129 and $130 are quiet at the former rate.

MISCELLANEOUS. · Green Island Cement shares have dropped to $19 with sellers. China Borneos are on offer at $38. Watsons ban be obtained at $161 ́ ́ex dividend paid this day. Electrics can be purchased at $12 and 861 for the old and new shares respectively. Ropes are wanted at $1573. China Providents are in demand at $9), but after sales at this rate there are no further share obtainable. Ices continue in request at $175, and Tramways at $225. Cigar Shares áre unchanged.
