Royal Welsh Fusiliers, and an eleven from H.M.S. Teis. After a game all in favour of the latter, the sailors won by three goals to two. | Erica
In the Rugby match on Thursday afternoon at Happy Valley a draw took place between the H.K. F.C and the Army. The Army kicked off, and the ball was sent into tonch. From the line out Chetwynd captured, and from a run three-parts the length of the field scored underneath the posts. This, however, was not converted. Numerous scrimmages ensued, in | which the Club showed to the best advantage. Bishop presently seized and was successful in scoring. but from a free kick near the touch the Club failed to register the extra points.
The game at half-time stood-Club, 2 tries; Army, 0.
In the second half the Army plucked up considerably, and before the whistle sounded they had managed to equaliso, Stockwell and Watson being responsible.
Result-2 tries each. The following were the teams :-
Club:-Back-Russell; three-quarter backs— Cox, McMurtrie (Capt.), Strong, and Chetwynd; half-backs -- Williamson and Howkins; for- wards-Johnston, Hallifax, Bishop. Wilson. Sandford, Gibson, Stockwell, and Anderson.

ROYAL HONGKONG YACHT CLUB.
The first club race, which had been postponed from the 11th November on account of the typhoon, was sailed on Sunday in a fresh north- easterly breeze over Conrse No. 9 from Police Pier, Kowloon, round Kowloon Rock, Channel Rock and Meyer's Buoy, twice round, the distance being 13 miles. All the yachts in the first class turned out and crossed the line almost simultaneously, with the ex- ception of the Active, which was over before gun-fire. It was the finest sight imagin able to 800 the
nine yachts tacking up the reach to Blackhead's Pier, crossing and recrossing each other so closely that it requir. ed all the skill of the helmsmen and implicit obedience to the sailing rules to avoid collision. As it was, the Chanticleer struck the Erica, who was in stays, going about, to prevent putting Alannah ashore, with the unfortunat. result that the main halliard parted and she took

no farther part in the race. By the time Blackhead's Pier was reached Bonito had managed to square out of the crowd and began steadily to increase hor lead. Iris, with her usual good judgment, stood away on a long board towards Hongkong and gained considerably doing so, the Bonito having very little to spare when they next neared the Dock Point It was very disappointing that the Alannah could not do herself justice, her mast being far too weak, and as it was buckling badly and threatening to go at any moment, her owner very wisely bore up for home. Kowlcon Rock was rounded by Bonito, followed by Iris and Maid Marian, the two latter being close together all day. Bonito, as usual, gained on the beat to Channel Rocks, but on the run to Meyer's Buoy made the mistake of taking in her spinnaker when the wind ap- parently shifted, but it soon went back again, and both Iris and Maid Marian gained on her considerably. The gybe at Meyer's Buoy was safely negotiated by all, but from this time Bonito steadily increased her lead as the wind freshened, and came in an easy winner, Iris and Maid Marian having a most exciting race for second place It will be noticed that the thirteen miles were sailed in only a few minutes over the two hours.
The timing at the finish' was :—

The Tai On from Can-. ton took her tow, but when she got her as far Hankow and Shanghai, as West Point the junk, which had been badly damaged sank in about 50 feet of water.
