JOINT STOCK SHARES. HONGKONG, 29th Jane.-The market con tinnes dull and inactive and business restricted very few stocks whilst rates in most cases show a further decline. The crisis in the north as reported last week remains the cause of the existing depression and no improvement can be looked for until affairs get more settled.
BANKS-Hongkong and Shanghais have ruled very quiet and without any business, clos- ing at the nominal rate of 300, whilst the London rate has fallen to £53.
Nationals con- tinue steady but without business.
MARINE INSURANCES.—A. fair business has been done in China Traders at $55, 56 and 57, the stook closing with sellers at the latter rate. Unions have been placed in small lots at $262 and Cantons at 1424. Straits and the Northern Insurances have ruled quiet and without basi- mass. Quotations of the latter are taken from the latter Shanghai Circulars.
FIRE INSURANCES. Both Hongkongs and Chinas remain dull and neglected with only a small business in the latter at $79 to report.
SHIPPING-Hongkong Canton and Macaes after further small sales at $314 have declined to 3901, at which rafe shares are now obtainable. Indos have ruled quiet with a small business at $84 cash and at $90 for 81st December. Doug- Isses continue on offer at $47 without inducing bayers to come forward and it is probable that an offer of a point lower would bring a few shares on the market, China Mutuals prefs. have found buyers at £11 and more could be placed at that rate. China Manilas continue dull and nelected. Star Ferries unchanged and without business.
--REFINERIES -- China Sugars have been placed at $120. Luzons continue totally neglected.
MINING-Punjoms continue to rule quiet with wallers at $5.75 and no sales to report. Jelebus have changed hands at $12. Ranba at $58 and $57, and Olivers and Great Easterns in small lots at quotations.
DOCKS, WHARVES AND GODOWNS Hong keng and Whampoa Docks continue quiet with a tendency to weakness. Offers to sell at 8520 have met with no response and the market close quiet at that rate. Kowloon Wharfs have been placed in small lots at $85, closing at $844 sellers. Wanchais unchanged and without business.

LANDS, HOTELS AND BUILDINGS.-Hong- kong Lands have ruled much easier with sales at $137, $136 and $135. Market, however, closes rather firmer with sales and buyers at $136 on time. A small parcel was placed at 188 for August. Hotels continue unaccountably quiet | with only small sales at $122, closing quiet with sallers at that rate. West Points have found buyers at $17 and $47, closing with buyers at latter rate, while sales have been effected with at $49 for September, delivery. Humphreys have found small buyers at $10.75 and close steady at that rate. Kowloon Lands continue on offer at $25; without business.
