BANKS-Hongkong and Shanghais - changed hands in small lot at 318 per

cont. premium for cash, and Nationals at $27§ and $28.

MARINE INSURANCES-China: Tradei's: con- tinue steady with small sales at $54 Cantons have changed hands at $130 - and Unions at $130. North Chinas are on offer at $170, without finding byers. Yangiszes have been placed at quotation. An enquiry for Straits at $1 has not been met. -

FIRE INSURANCES.-Hongkongs have been placed at $2921 to $300, closing steady at $2971. Chinas have changed hands in small lots at quotation.

SHIPPING. Hongkong, Cantor and Macaos I have been negotiated at $304 and $30, closing with buyers at the latter rate. Douglases and Indos have changed hands at $51 and $92 res- pectively. China Mutuals and China Manilas unchanged and without business.

REFINERIES. China Sugars have changed hands in small lots at $130. Luzons continne ou offer without inducing any business,

MINING.-Punjoms (ordinary) have been placed in small lots at $7.75 closing with sellers at that rate. Preferences have found buyers at $1.40 and close steady at that rate. DOCKS, WHARVES, AND GODOWNS--Hong- kong and Whampoa Docks have again weakened on a renewal of rumours of bone dire

West Points have ruled steady at $47, without much business and close slightly firmer with sales and buyers at that rate. Humphreys have improved to $9.85 after sales at $9.75 and $9.80. Kowloon Gands are on offer at $26 without finding buyers.

COTTONS.--Hongkongs have again changed changed hands at $364. In the absence of local business in the Shanghai mills quotations are taken from the 1st Shanghai circulars.

MISCELLANEOUus-Green Islands have been dealt in to a fair extent at $294 for cash, and at about equivalent sales forward to July, market closing steady at $29, Holders should note that their names must be on the register by the 10th inst. to secure the proposed new issue of Capital.
