JOINT STOCK SHARES. HomeKong, 9th February.—The market has ruled rather quiet but rates have been well maintained and a fair general business trans- acted.
BANKS.-Hongkong and Shanghais continue more or less neglected with only small sales at 8334 and $333 to report, the market closes quiet at $333 per cent. premium. London rate per Reuter £60. Nationals have changed
hands at quotation.
MARINE INBurances.--No business is re- ported under this heading.
FIBE INSURANCES. Hongkongs have changed hands at $335 and Chinas at $884 and 889 both closing steady at those rates.
SHIPPING.-Hongkong. Canton and Macaos ruled weak in the early part of the week with sales at $291 and 294, at time of closing however they are steadiør at 8294. Iodo Chinas continne dull with but small sales at $38, market closing with sellers at that rate. Douglases are on offer at $18 without bringing any bayers on the market. China Maniles and China Mutuals are both in demand without any sales to report.
REFINERIES.-China Sugars have found buyers in small lots at from $116. to 31 8 closing steady at latter rate.
Lazons un- changed and without business.
MINING-Punjoms continue quiet with only a small business at $5.60 and 5.50. Charbonages steady but with no sales ut 3350. Oliver B's have changed hands at the reduced rate of 847 and $44. owing to a poorer crushing than usual. (152 oz. from 298 tons, mill working only 12 days) Jelebus have been negotiated to a limited extent at quotation. Caledonians have changed hands at 90, 85 and 80 cents, closing quiet at 924 cents for the new shares. Raubs continue steady at $62, but without much business.
LOCKS WHARVES AND GODOWNS.-Hong- kong and Whampoa Docks have found buyers in small lots at $550 for cash and 8555 for settlements, market closing quiet at $550. Kowloon Wharves continue to change hands in unimportant lots at $84 closing steady at that rate. Amoy Docks and Wanchais unchanged and without business.

LANDS HOTELS AND BUILDINGS.—Hong- kong Lauds have ruled firm and with buyers and no sellers at $116 the rate gradually rose to $118 after small sales at $117 and $117) at time of closing; shares are still inquired for at $118 with- out bringing many shares on the market. Kow- loon Lands have found buyers at $26 ex. divi- dend paid on the 7th inst. Hotels remain tem- porarily neglected with small sales, at $126 and $127, market closing quiet at'quotation. West Points after further sales at $39 and 8304 have changed hands at $40, $105. Closing with buyers at $41 Humphreys Estates have been dealt in at $10, and close with sellers at $9.90.
