VOLUNTEERS.
A most interesting shooting match took place at Kowloon on Sunday afternoon, when teams" selected from the U. S. Volunteers brought over ⠀ from Manila in the Tartar and the Hongkong
Volunteer Corps competed against each other. The affair attrated quite a large attendance, Shooting commenced shortly before four o'clock. and was not over until about half-past six. The ranges were 200, 400, and 500 yards. It will be seen from the score below that the Hong- kong men finished 307 ahead, but it is only fair to mention that the Springfields which the Americans were using were hardly the Weapons for such an occasion, the wear and tear to which they have been subjected for somé true as they might have been, Major Chap- months past preventing them from being as man, in the course of a few words at the con- clusion of the shooting, recognised this.
