demand was not met; a very few cash shares changed hands and no forward sales are re- ported. Kowloon Wharves have ruled easier with sales at 896 and sellers at that. Wanchais without basiness, but an enquiry at 841 exists.
LANDS HOTELS, AND BUILDINGS.-Hong kong Lands have ruled very firm, with fair sales at 897 $974, $98, and 899 on and later at similar rates ex dividend just paid, market closing firm at $99 ex dividend. Hotels have also improved their position to $108 whilst a demand for forward shares has not been freely met small sales are reported for December at 8111 and $112, more shares being wanted at the latter rate. West Points in the early part of the week receded to $83 with sales, but have since somewhat recovered to $33, and close at $32, ex dividend. Humphreys have changed hands at $12 and $11.75 and close with sellers at $113.
MISCELLANEOUS.-Cottons
continue dull and without business. Watsons have fallen to $16 with sales and sellers. Ices have changed handa at $122 cum div. and are now enquire! for at $124 ex div. Slar Ferries at $161, Electrics at $13, and Ropes at $181.

Wharf and Shanghai-Langkat shares. Banks.-Hong- kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation.-A few sh shares were lared at 820 per cent, premium, and a transaction was made at 380 per cent. Premium, for delivery on the 30th September. There are ca-h buyera. Marine Insurance Business was done in China Traders' shares at $42, North China shares at 'Ils. 95, and Yang- tszes ut $112). North Chinas are offering on same leting. Fire Insurance.-No local business reported. There are cash scllers of Chinas at $894. Shipping.-Indo-China S. N. shares were placed at Tls. 47. Sugars.-Perak Sugar Cultivation shares were placed at Tls. 56, and are wanted. China Sugar Refining shares were sold in Hongkong, ad have sellers at $173. Luzons are neglected. It is rumoured that the 1,900 unallotted shars will be issued to the shareholders in the proporation of one new to every three old shares. Kowloon Land and Builling shares purchased from Hongkong at $31 for delivery on the 31st October. Industrial.- International Cotton Miil shares were sold at Els. 67 for the 31st current, Tls. 68/70 cash. Yab Loong shares are wanted at Tls. 55. An extraordinary general meeting of shareholders is called for the 28th current, at which the Directors will propose to increase the capital to Tls. 200,000, by the creation of 4,000 new shares with Ils. 25 paid up. China Flour Mill suares changed hands at Tls. 35/30, and are offering. American Cigarette New shares were sold at Tis. 55 cash and Tls. 54 for the 31st August. An interim dividen of Tls, 24 bas been declared on the Old shares, payable on the 1st August Miscellaneous.-Shanghai-Sumatra Tobacco sha- were sold at Tis. 50.
