At the Bridge Dunrobin, Rose de France, and Centipede led. At the Black Rock Century was half-a-length ahead of Obi. Aberdeen took third place on approaching the village. At the village itself Century had a lead of ten lengths of Obi and Aberdeen, which lead he well maintained. Coming down the Straight Aberdeen took second place and Obi third. Century won by five lengths, six lengths sepa- rating Aberdeen from Obi, the latter being

In the Back Strecth Ultimatum coming up, and Strathfleet passed Greif. The order at the Black Rock was Strathfleet Quemoy, Ultimatum. At the Village Strathfest was four lengths ahead of Quemoy, with Ultimatum third. In the Straight Strath- fleet had a still better lead, and at the finishing post was 12 lengths in front of Ultimatum which passed Quemoy about half a furlong from home and finished about half a length in front. Ten lengths behind came White Rose and Orwell. In the Back Stretch the order re- mained the same except that White Rose took fourth place, Orwell also coming up. At the Village Yellow Dwarf took the lead, with Tea Rose second and Sandstorm third, White Rose still improving his position. In the Straight Yellow Dwarf maintained the lead, White Rose taking second place. It was evident, however, that Yellow Dwarf would be the winner. At the finishing post Yellow Dwarf was two lengths ahead of White Rose, ten lengths divid- ing the second and third. Time, 2 min. 15 sec. last mile.

Entering the Straight Forest King took the lead from Montebello, but White Rose was com ing fast and soon secured first place, which he kept and won by three lengths, five lengths di- viding the second and third.
