Twenty-one entered. At the start Obi got | slightly in front but at the Black Rock Seaweed and Century were a little ahead. Ongoing round the village Century was first, followed by Obi, Wild Rose, and Centipede. Passing the stand for the first time, they were all in a bunch, with Seaweed, Century, Douglas, and Contipede in the first row.
At the Bridge Seaweed, Century, Obi, and Wild Rose were in front. In the back stretch Centipede got hopelessly behind, Seaweed leading, On going round by the village Wild Rose was first, leading by four lengths, Seaweed and Century being secoud and third. Wild Rose continued to forge ahead and won by eight lengths, three longths divid ing the second and third. Time 3min. 29 sec.

Charger lead along the straight, being hard pressed by Montebello and White Rose. At the distance post White Rose took the lead. The latter passed Straightaway, but Blizzard still maintained a good lead. At the Distance Post Sirdar and Jim Crack came together, but after a short tough struggle Sirdar won by a neck, there being also a very close race between the second and third. Time, 2min. 8 sec. 1

The weather being beautifully fine yesterday the scene which was witnessed on the Race Course was a very brilliant one, the bandsome dresses of the ladies, who were present in force, showing up exceedingly well. Though rather slow at first the ground improved during the day, and in consequence the times were an improvement on Tuesday.
The race of the day-the German Cup-was won by Messrs. McKie and Gove's Strathfleet, the Prince, which started well, being out of it at the finish. Mr. Mody's White Rose, the winner of the Derby, was again to the fore in the Navy Cup, managing to beat Forest King by three lengths. The Jockey Cup was a cap. ital race.
