they appear to be fully up to last year's veild in quality and the quantity of first pack Teas will be fully as large. Present prices are Tls. 3 to 4 under last year's opening rates, but there is not much doing teamen refuse most offers, but with considerably lower prices ruling up country we expect the firmness will not continue long. A well known chop "Wing Kee" was split up the other day and it was very instructive to see the prices each line fetched. Fychows. Are not in favour on account of the smoky flavor and their unattractive appearance. Tls. 17 has been recor. ded for a chop, and this shows a drop of to 1 tael from opening rates. Local Packs and Wenchows continue to be forced off, but we doubt if the decline in price is not fully counterbalanced by the fall in quality. Supply of these already reach 12,287 half-chests, against a total of 17,814 half-chests last season. Hysons. Teamen are having it all their own way with choice" Teas and Taels G is said to have been paid for one parcel; Tls. 50, Tl, 52 and Tls. 55 are ordinary every day quotations. These Teas are Tis. 15 to Tls. 50 picul dearer than they were before the Batoum route was opened. One or two of the Taiyuen Tienkais are "in water. The

gems lowest quotation is Tls. 23 for local package, and some useful Teas have been settled at Tls. 80/36.
