A dainty fairy suggested bis going out and living a rough life in the world and choosin some worthy little elf who would love him for himself and not for his wealth and rank, which he did, and chose the dainty little Lily of the Valley, thereby showing most commendable taste although there were so many attractive ones aronnd that, without the help of the good|fications. The ceremony of naming the vessel Quiros was gracefully performed by Signorita Vasquez, daughter of Captain Vasquez. After the launch the party who had been invited to attend ad- journed to the offices, when the usual toasts of success to the vessel, her builders, and the health of the lady who performed the christening were duly honoured.

They are also more convenient for the passing around of plans and documents and are quieter and better lighted. On Thursday there were present the Acting Chief Justice, Mr. E. F. Alford, and Mr. W.
